Invite the senses
Feel free to use images, visual or tactile clues to make it more interactive. Make use of the surroundings—how many trees are really on that high hill over there?
Go all in on the theme
Use fitting designs on the cards and make sure the prize reflects the subject.
Clear and straightforward
Set clear rules and instructions so everyone understands how to play.
Don’t forget the carrots!
Never underestimate what a reward can do for maintaining good mood, focus and motivation. Small prizes or other forms of recognition work wonders.
For the youngest participants, the best way is to have a prixe for all participants to keep the good vibe going!
Break the tiebreak
Always be prepared that two (or more!) participants might end up with the same total. The best way to solve this is to have a tiebreaker ready.
A question where the participants need to estimate something is perfect for this. Then is it simply the one closest to the correct answer that grabs the best position.
You can either include the tiebreaker in the main quiz, or make the participants answer this when you are announing the winners.
Customized questions
Make sure the questions are varied and interesting, with different difficulty levels to suit the participants’ knowledge.
Adapt the theme, difficulty, and number of questions for those who will join—or stay one step ahead and have, for example, two quizzes ready on the same theme but at different levels. Anything is possible!
Number of questions – better one too few
As an event organizer, it’s important to sense the mood and see things from the guests’ perspective. Even the best, most fun quiz or trivia walk can go too far if there’s too much of a good thing. Keep participants alert by not having too many questions.
Older than 12 years
Around 7–10 is usually perfect; we recommend not exceeding 12 in total.
Younger participants
The younger quizzers seems to enjoy 5-8 questions and tend to zone out if you go up to 10 or more.
